With the ANU Bachelor of Science, you have the flexibility to explore all your interests, tailoring a program for the direction you choose to take science. This program structures learning in majors, minor and specialisations so you can explore the endless possibilities of astronomy and astrophysics, biological anthropology, biology, chemistry, climate science, computer science, earth science, environmental policy, evolution and ecology, genetics, geography, immunology, marine science, mathematics and statistics, natural resource management and sustainability, physics, plant science, psychology and neuroscience, and science communication (just to name a few).
Whatever you choose to study, you will gain transferrable skills in critical thinking, analysis, investigation and evidenced-based decision-making.
You will have the option of applying for an Honours year towards the end of your third year of study.

Meet some of your teachers
Dr Mark Ellison, Chemistry first year coordinator
Mark is a senior lecturer and first year Chemistry coordinator in the Research School of Chemistry and the Associate Director (Education).
Mark was awarded the Pearson/RACI Centenary of Federation Educator of the year in 2011. He was also awarded a 2012 citation for outstanding contributions to student learning in the Australian Government awards for University Teaching.
Dr Juliey Beckman, Biology first year coordinator
Juliey’s research focuses on the ecology of small mammal communities. She has also recently developed an interest in the urban ecology of birds. She teaches a range of biology subjects including physiology, ecology, systematics and evolution and says she tries to include some form of discovery for students—those “a-ha!” moments—in every class.
Dr Will Grant, Science Communication first year coordinator
Will's research and writing has focused on the intersection of society, politics and science, looking at how the relationships between these are changing with new technologies. This has included conducting science to society dialogues on climate change futures, and the production of a documentary film on climate change communication. Will is regularly heard discussing science on the radio and on a number of podcasts.
