Psychology Interactive Challenge on Misinformation
Misinformation is a big problem because when false or wrong information spreads online, it can confuse a lot of people and makes it hard for them to know what it true. This can cause problems in our communities and make it tough to make good decisions.
In 2020 ANU School of Medicine and Psychology academic, Dr Eryn Newman collaborated with an international group to produce the Debunking Handbook during the pandemic to tackle misinformation and fake news.
During this interactive session, ANU PhD Psychology students or ANU College of Health & Medicine student ambassadors will unpack excerpts from the Debunking Handbook and set small group challenges on how to identify and protect against misinformation.
