Join us for a discussion on this year's theme, In this together.

National Reconciliation Week is a time for the ANU Community to learn about and celebrate our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. In line with Reconciliation Australia's theme for the week, In this together, join Professor Ian Anderson, Azure Hermes and Dr Virginia Marshall for the virtual 2020 ANU Reconciliation Week panel discussion.

Professor Ian Anderson AO, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student and University Experience), a Palawa man from northern Tasmania, will talk about his vision for the University and his experience in how a Reconciliation Action Plan can be used to strengthen the University's Indigenous agenda.

Azure Hermes, National Centre for Indigenous Genomics at ANU John Curtin School of Medical Research, is forging a new approach to the ethically and culturally challenging topic of Indigenous genomic research. She is from the Gimuy Walubara Yidinji people, traditional custodians of the Cairns area.

Dr Virginia Marshall, Inaugural Indigenous Postdoctoral Fellow with the Australian National University's School of Regulation and Global Governance (RegNet), will discuss her work as a legal scholar and practising solicitor in native title as well as the issues she has worked on around freshwater and sea rights law and Traditional Indigenous knowledge.

Jodie Taylor, a proud Warramunga woman, a former ABC journalist and now head of marketing and communications at Supply Nation will moderate the conversation.
